Syrian Minister: Mughniyeh Wasn’t Careful

(IsraelNN.com) Hizbullah Operations Officer Imad Mughniyeh used to enter
Syria with fake identification and stay at apartments without taking any
security precautions, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al-Mualem told Kuwaiti
newspaper Al-Anbaa this weekend.

Mualem did not say directly who was to blame for the assassination but
hinted that it was Israel: "One must ask who benefits from this. Israel is
at the top of the list of those who benefit," he said.

Mualem told the paper that the Syrian security forces’ investigation of the
assassination is continuing "day and night" but said he did not see the
assassination as an infiltration of Syrian security: "These kinds of crimes
take place in many large capitals in the world. I cannot call it an
infiltration," he explained.
